For units who are switching to standard concentration morphine infusions, please get in touch (s.gaze@nhs.net) if you would be interested in purchasing ready-to-use morphine vials – a pharmaceutical company is considering manufacturing them in the concentrations recommended in the national framework (25 micrograms/mL, 50 micrograms/mL and 200 micrograms/mL) if there is enough market interest. They will be available as 50mL vials – think of the time you will save making up infusions on your unit! And it’s far less risky – no more complicated calculations required!
