Wellbeing and mental health awareness training for QiS Educators

Join us at the Park Plaza London Waterloo

A day dedicated to putting wellbeing into practice; equipping nursing teams with the tools to prioritise self-care, enhance both individual and collective health, and maintain balance in the work place

We understand that many of you are feeling the weight of stress and distress in your work, with turnover, retention issues, and sickness absence continuing to pose significant challenges. We also know that simply acknowledging these pressures isn’t enough; we need to take action to support one another.

Evidence shows that when staff are given the tools to focus on their own wellbeing and are equipped to face these challenges proactively, it can make a real difference. What’s more, the best support often comes from within your own team, rather than from external sources. With this in mind, we’re here to help you build the skills needed to support yourselves and each other.

Incorporated in the session is the REACT model, which stands for: Recognise, Engage, Actively Listen, Check Risk, and Talk about Specific Actions. The REACT technique is a well-established staff support model, specifically designed around the requirements in busy and challenging environments such as critical care. It involves conversations with staff about their needs and empowering & supporting staff to problem solve. You will have access to the REACT materials and can cascade the training in your units.

Topics to be covered:

  • Understanding mental health
  • Mindfulness/breathing and relaxation. What are they and what is the value?
  • REACT training
  • Discussing case scenarios

There are two available dates for this session, both offering the same content. Please select the date that works best for you.
25/3/24 (Matrons, PNAs or nurses regularly supporting nursing team)
