TRiM implementation workshop
TRIM is a post-incident procedure carried out by trained members of staff called TRiM practitioners. These practitioners provide post incident support for those that has been exposed to traumatic events. . It provides structured conversations to identify those who may need further support and helps reduce the stigma around seeking help. In practice, TRiM empowers trained colleagues to recognise signs of distress early and guide others towards appropriate resources, ensuring no one feels they have to cope alone.
TRiM is just one of several initiatives aimed at supporting the well-being of neonatal staff across London. We know the work can be both incredibly rewarding and emotionally demanding, and more needs to be done to provide consistent, meaningful support. So far, 47 staff members across London neonatal units have been trained as TRiM Practitioners and 7 as Managers. Thank you to everyone who took part in this training. We also recognise the valuable contribution of those who have been trained in TRiM through trusts or other routes.
We’re currently developing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for TRiM to be used in the neonatal unit in London and would welcome your input. Join us at our upcoming TRiM implementation workshop across neonatal units in London. On the 17th of September 2025, from 09:00 to 13:00.
