Trauma Risk Training day (TRIM) for NW units
TRIM develops skills within the MDT to respond to the high stakes, high pressure environment of neonatal units
TRIM stands for ‘trauma risk management. It is designed for organisations who work in high risk or high threat areas and where staff are likely to face potentially traumatic situations in the course of their work. The course teaches a peer support system to help staff manage their day to day work. The model is based on ‘active monitoring’ which means keeping a caring and watchful eye on staff who have been exposed to difficult or distressing situations. This approach is consistent with the NICE traumatic stress guidance and has robust research to support the course.
There are 2 places for each unit and 5 events running in total, one in each LMNS sector in London. Each event runs on 2 consecutive dates, face to face at a central hospital in your area.
